4-H Junior Camp is a residential, week-long summer camp program available to Chesterfield County residents ages 9-13.(Please see below for age guidelines.) Camp is held every year at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center in Williamsburg, VA.

4-H camp provides youth countless opportunities for learning more about themselves, their peers, and the natural world around them. Days are filled with camp classes (archery, kayaking, sailing, robotics, videography, marine science, challenge course, woodworking, arts and crafts, and much more!), unstructured recreation and swim time, flag ceremonies, evening programs and campfires. Our main focus during camp is to help youth develop independence, self-esteem, confidence, interpersonal skills, and other life skills.

Please note that the Chesterfield County Extension Office is in charge of planning for and processing registration for our week of 4-H Junior camp. Jamestown 4-H Center is just the facility we use during the week for camp programming. Registration and/or questions regarding Chesterfield 4-H Camp should be directed to the Chesterfield Extension office at 804-751-4401, not the Jamestown 4-H Center.

Please NOTE: There is NO transportation to and from camp, parents MUST drop off and pick up campers @ the Jamestown 4-H Center.

Payments must be received within 2 weeks of your registration date or your spot in camp will be released to the waitlist.
There will be a $50.00 fee for all returned checks.

No Roommate Requests:

We are no longer taking roommate requests. This is being done for a number of reasons. Inevitably, each year we are unable to accommodate everyone’s request which leads to disparity and disappointment. Often requests come in that are conflicting and make for awkward situations. When requests can be accommodated it sometimes creates situations where all but one or two of the campers knows each other well and those one or two kids end up feeling left out and alienated despite staff’s best efforts to integrate the room. Summer camp is a place for kids to get out of their comfort zone and interact with new people in a fun low pressure environment. Summer camp is a place for new experiences. Campers may miss out on meeting a new lifelong friend that they would not otherwise have made had it not been for them meeting them for the first time at camp in their cabin. Please allow your kids to get the full experience of camp and all the glorious benefits that come will it that will follow them for a lifetime.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Cancellations made prior to May 9, 2020 will result in a refund of payment made minus a processing fee of $50.00 Cancellations made after May 10, 2020 will result in a non-refund. All cancellations request must be made in writting. Please allow 8 weeks to process refund.
